Eating out in Brighton: Purezza

Purezza was the first vegan pizzeria in the UK. It opened in 2015 shortly after I moved to Brighton, the stars were definitely aligning for me. It’s reasonably priced, has a great menu, atmosphere and all the staff are super friendly.

“Following our Neapolitan family recipe, our sourdough pizzas are made with a ‘type 2’ flour and matured for a minimum of 48 hours. This enhances the flavour and digestibility, making them extra light and fluffy. Our fresh artisan mozzarella is made from a blend of organic Italian brown rice, chickpeas and oil. It’s less than half the calories and fat of traditional mozzarella.
You can choose a sourdough base, hemp flour base or gluten-free base with any of the pizzas.”

I recommend the hemp bases if you are having pizza, don’t be put off by the fact it sounds healthy they really are a lot tastier! If pizza is not your thing there are some great pasta dishes: the mac and cheese and lasagne dishes are divine. The raw pizza is lovely. I’ve never tried the salad I want to but I also want to eat ‘cheese’- filled dough balls.. The desserts are pretty good but I don’t often havee room for them. Here’s a snapshot of what’s on offer
